The theoretical track will consist of an introduction of fundamental combustion aspects applied to fires. The practical track will consist of lectures where applied fire safety topics will be delivered by leading scientists and practitioners, and of workshops where the students will be asked to apply some of the knowledge covered in the lectures. For this track, students will be divided into two groups, Modeling and Experiments. For those participants enrolled without a scholarship attendance is optional but highly encouraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An award will be issued to the student presenting the best poster at the APCISS-2:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1st: USD $250<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2nd: USD $150<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3rd: USD $100<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The award selection committee will be composed by five professors from different countries and institutions. Posters that are not collected at the end of each day will be discarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"social-program\">Social Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">APCISS-2 will kick-off Sunday evening with a welcome reception to all participants at the hotel. During this reception the students will be able to register at the school and meet the other participants in a welcoming and relaxed environment. Registration will also be available Monday morning for participants that arrive late because of traveling constraints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main social event of the school will be held on Wednesday. Chile is noted for the quality of its wines and the beauty of its rugged scenery. The geography and harsh weather of Chile\u2019s southern regions, known as Patagonia, have shaped the culture and character of their inhabitants. Thus, it has been planned to merge these two characteristic aspects of our country by offering the participants a traditional Patagonian-style barbecue with wine tasting in the gardens of one of the hosting Universities.
